A booking code is a short string of letters and numbers that stores somebody's selections so you can load the same slip into your own account. You type it into your bookmaker's load-code box and the bets land on your slip. You still pick the stake yourself, and the odds can have moved since the code was made.

What does booking code mean?

It means a saved slip, nothing more. The code is a reference to a set of selections sitting on the bookmaker's server, not a bet that has been placed.

The name comes from the shop days, and PremierBet's help centre still describes it that way: you save a booking code on the website, you are given a unique reference, and you carry that reference into a retail branch where the cashier places the bet for you. The app version is the same idea with the walk removed.

How to get a booking code

You build the slip and press the button that saves it. SportyBet's Code Hub lists three steps and no more: open the site, mobile web or app, make the selections you want, then click Book bet.

The code it hands back is what you share. Nothing is staked at that point, which is why people paste these codes into WhatsApp groups all day without spending anything.

How to bet with a booking code

Paste it into the Load Code box, press Load, and the selections appear on your slip for you to stake.

Then read the slip before you confirm, because SportyBet's own load-code page carries a one-line warning under the box: odds or availabilities may change. A code made at noon for a 16:00 kick-off can come back at a shorter price, or come back missing a leg the book has pulled. The combined odds you were sold in the group chat are not the odds you are being offered.

We publish picks rather than codes, so you can see the reasoning instead of a reference number. Today's highest-rated matches are on the banker tips page, and the safer side of the same card is on double chance, each with its league and kick-off in WAT. Yesterday's calls, the losers included, are on results.

Prices move on team news. Check your app before you stake.

What does under 25.5 booking points mean?

Nothing to do with booking codes. Booking points is a cards market: the bookmaker scores each yellow and red card in a match and you bet on the total being over or under a line.

Two different meanings of the word "booking" sit next to each other in the same app, which is why the search results for one keep pulling up the other. Each book publishes its own points per card and its own rule for a second yellow, so check that market's rules rather than assuming the numbers carry across from another app.

Is a code somebody shares with you worth playing?

Usually not, and the reason is not that the sender is lying to you.

A code carries selections. It does not carry the thinking behind them, the record of the person who built it, or any way for you to check either. You cannot tell whether the ten legs were reasoned or thrown together to reach a price, and you find out at full time. Loading someone's eight-fold is a very common way to stake money on an opinion you have never read. If you are going to use codes, treat them the way you would a tip from a stranger in a viewing centre: look at every leg, drop the ones you do not believe, and stake what is left. Our football predictions table shows the market and the kick-off for every call we rate, which is at least something you can argue with.

Bet only what you can afford to lose. A prediction is an opinion, not a promise. 18+.
